This Software Licence Agreement facilitates the licensing of software by a company to another company. This licence is drafted so it runs for a specific period of time, and renews for a further period (which is determined by you), in return for the customer paying a regular licence fee. It is not a perpetual licence (i.e. a licence which runs forever).
This document would be used by a company providing software to its customers without any associated or related services (such as professional services or support services).
The document is drafted from the perspective of the supplier. It is drafted in a fair and balanced manner to minimise negotiation but it does favour the supplier. It includes provisions to protect intellectual property rights, as well as terms relating to data protection, confidentiality and limitation of liability.
A company would use this document when it only wishes to licence software to a customer without any other services.

1. No contract, no clarity
Verbal agreements can quickly unravel. A written contract makes sure everyone’s on the same page – from deliverables to deadlines to payment terms.

2. Protect your work
NDAs aren’t legal faff – they’re vital protection. If you’re sending ideas, concepts, or pricing, a confidentiality agreement helps stop that info walking away.

3. Help set clear expectations
Late invoices? Scope creep? A clear client contract spells out what’s included, what it costs, and when you get paid – no awkward emails required.

4. Growth brings risk
As your business scales, so does exposure. More collaborators, more assets, more complexity – which means more chances for IP to be compromised without proper protection.

Min 3 month subscription
Businesses with 10+ employees
Min 3 month subscription
Need just a few docs? Start with our on demand credit packs – pay only for what you need and save £100’s if not £1,000’s!
Or, for ongoing document needs, our subscription plans keep things simple: Start-Up is perfect for sole traders and small businesses looking for an affordable, no-fuss solution. Business is designed for companies with 1-10 employees, offering more comprehensive support as you grow. Professional is built for businesses with 10+ employees, packed with advanced features to handle larger legal needs efficiently.
Running out of space? No worries! You can upgrade your shizl storage anytime through your account settings. Choose an option that suits you best:
x 50 documents = £6
x 100 documents = £12
But that’s not all! shizl storage isn’t just for documents created on our platform – you can also upload and store your own PDFs, making it the perfect all-in-one solution for managing your business documents.
Each of our documents has a credit value. For example, a Statement of Work costs 2 credits, whereas a more complicated Master Services Agreement costs 10 credits. This means that for just £20 you can purchase x2 on demand credits and access documents that would normally cost £100’s if not £1000’s!
Whether you have selected to buy on demand, or any of the subscriptions – more credits can be purchased at any time, making all options very flexible.
All our subscription packages can be easily upgraded as your business grows. If you find that your needs increase over time, you can seamlessly move from the ‘start-up’ to the ‘business’ or ‘professional’ package, ensuring you always have the right level of support. This scalability allows you to adapt your plan as your business evolves, without any hassle.
If you don’t use your credit allocation, your unused credits will accrue for future use. This allows you to accumulate credits for periods when you’ll need a higher volume of legal documentation. By doing so, you can manage your legal expenses more efficiently, ensuring a more cost-effective solution to your annual legal needs.
It’s important to note that once purchased (on demand) or acquired (through a subscription), credits are non-refundable as noted in our T&Cs.
